A Blue Alert has been issued for two individuals involved in the shooting of a Harris County Sheriff's Office Deputy. The suspects, identified as Terran Green, 34, and James Green, 37, are considered armed and dangerous. The shooting took place on August 16, 2023, at approximately 7:39 pm during a routine traffic stop at 1300 Homestead Road in northeast Harris County.

The injured deputy, a 29-year-old who has been with the HCSO for 1 year and 3 months, underwent surgery and is currently in critical but stable condition. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the deputy sustained at least two bullet wounds to the upper torso.

Authorities have urged the public to be on the lookout for the suspects, who may be driving a blue Ford Escape with Texas License Plate SVJ6590. Terran Green is described as a black male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black shorts. James Green, also a black male, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 168 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Law enforcement officials are seeking information from the public to locate the suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 9-1-1 or contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477). The suspects are wanted in connection with the shooting of the deputy and should not be approached.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided by medical personnel from Lifeflight & Memorial Hermann, as well as other public safety partners.

Blue Alerts began in 2008, and are designed to speed up the apprehension of violent criminals who kill or seriously wound law enforcement officers.
