The Balch Springs Police Department says one person died in a crash Saturday morning along Interstate 20.
At 8:53am, Balch Springs PD and FD along with CareFlite ground EMS responded to a crash on eastbound I20 in the area of Seagoville Road.
Investigators say a vehicle was disabled in the middle lane of the highway when an 18-wheeler struck the driver, who was outside of the vehicle, and rear-ended the disabled vehicle. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital but they were later pronounced deceased.
All lanes of eastbound I20 were closed while police worked the scene.
