GREENVILLE, Texas - A Greenville ISD school bus carrying nine students was involved in a traffic accident Friday afternoon, marking the district's second bus crash in two days.
Bus No. 23 was involved in what the district described as a minor traffic accident at approximately 5 p.m. Sept. 4 while making afternoon student drop-offs.
Nine students from Greenville Middle School and Greenville High School were aboard the bus at the time. No students or staff members were injured, according to Greenville ISD.
The district said parents and guardians of the students aboard the bus were being contacted directly.
Students who still needed transportation home were transferred to continue the route with a different driver. The district advised families that the accident could cause a slight delay in afternoon drop-off times.
Friday's accident came one day after another Greenville ISD bus was involved in a crash.
On the morning of Sept. 3, Bus No. 29 made a wrong turn onto one-way Stonewall Street and was involved in a minor accident with a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The bus was traveling to begin its route and had not yet picked up any students. No injuries were reported in that crash.
