MARSHALL, Texas — A third suspect has surrendered to authorities in connection with the June 27 shooting at a Marshall Whataburger that left two young men dead and two others wounded.
The Marshall Police Department announced that 18-year-old Cortavian Tatum turned himself in Tuesday night at the Marshall Police Department. He was arrested and charged with murder.
With Tatum's surrender, all three suspects identified in the investigation are now in custody.
Previously arrested were 19-year-old Davion McDale Brown, who is charged with capital murder, and 21-year-old Jamarrio Dominique Epps of Longview, who is charged with murder. Both remain incarcerated in the Harrison County Jail.
The shooting occurred during the early morning hours of June 27 at the Whataburger on Victory Drive.
Responding officers found four people suffering from gunshot wounds. James Morrow, 20, and Jassiah Hill, 18, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two additional victims suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth credited investigators and numerous partner agencies for bringing the case to this point.

"This case is the result of relentless investigative work and strong collaboration with these agencies. I am proud of the dedication shown by our officers, investigators, and partner agencies in ensuring these three dangerous suspects were taken into custody. While nothing can erase the loss suffered by the victims' families, these arrests are the first important step toward justice."
The investigation has involved detectives with the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit, the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force, the Harrison County District Attorney's Office, Harrison County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, Texas Rangers, and the Longview Police Department.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and additional charges may be filed.
