A terrifying ordeal unfolded in a Texarkana parking lot as a woman fought off her former boyfriend who launched a violent attack on her. The incident occurred early in the morning as the woman was heading to her car to leave for work.
The victim, whose identity has been kept confidential, was on her way to her vehicle when she noticed Brandon Webb, her former boyfriend, standing between two parked cars across the parking lot. It is believed that he had been waiting for her outside her apartment. Realizing the danger, the woman quickly attempted to enter her car and escape, but Webb forcibly pushed the door back open.
Eyewitnesses reported that Webb commented on the victim's appearance before assaulting her while she was seated in the driver's seat. Shockingly, Webb brandished a pair of electric clippers he had brought with him and began trying to shave the woman's head during the struggle. The woman sustained multiple cuts on her forehead and neck from the clippers as she fought back against her attacker.
In a desperate bid to defend herself, the woman managed to retrieve a pistol from her car's console and fired a single shot in Webb's direction. The shot appeared to hit him, causing him to stumble several times as he attempted to flee the scene. The woman immediately dialed 911 to report the incident and seek assistance.
Webb was eventually discovered by Texarkana Texas firefighters a short time later. He had taken refuge in an enclosed patio behind a nearby apartment building and was calling out for help due to the gunshot wound. Emergency responders promptly transported him to Christus St. Michael Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet. His injuries were determined not to be life-threatening.
Detective Alan Bailey spearheaded the investigation into the incident, ultimately concluding that Webb had initiated the violent confrontation. Based on evidence and witness statements, Detective Bailey obtained felony warrants for Stalking and Aggravated Assault against Webb. Webb, who also had three outstanding felony probation revocation warrants, is expected to be arrested for these charges once he is released from the hospital.
The investigation revealed that the woman acted purely in self-defense and no charges are expected to be filed against her.
