City officials recently conducted a walkthrough of the complex alongside the project's general contractor, architects, and engineers to review progress and ensure the facility is ready for the public.

According to the city, contractors are currently focused on final touch-up work throughout the building as preparations continue for opening day.

One major milestone has already been completed with the event lawn now finished and ready to host future community gatherings and special events.

Inside the facility, lifeguard training has officially begun in the pool, signaling that aquatic operations are moving closer to launch.

Crews are also completing the installation of new fitness equipment in the center's workout areas, while furniture deliveries are scheduled to begin arriving next week.

Work is continuing outside as contractors complete hardscape and landscaping improvements around the facility's pump track, which will provide an outdoor recreation space for cyclists and riders.

City officials said they are focused on ensuring every aspect of the facility meets expectations before announcing an opening date.

While a grand opening date has not yet been finalized, officials expect to share that information with the community in the coming weeks.

The SportsPark Center is expected to serve as a major recreational hub for Greenville residents, offering fitness, aquatic, and outdoor activity opportunities for people of all ages.

City leaders thanked residents for their continued support throughout the construction process and said they look forward to welcoming the community once the facility officially opens.
