A heartbreaking incident unfolded this morning as a 15-year-old male cyclist lost his life in a fatal collision with a vehicle at the intersection of Independence Parkway and George Washington Dr., just outside Roach Middle School. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 AM, casting a pall of sorrow over the Frisco Independent School District community.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was attempting to cross Independence Parkway when the collision occurred. The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident promptly stopped at the scene and provided immediate assistance to the injured teenager. Despite their efforts, the young cyclist tragically succumbed to his injuries.
McKinney Police handled the scene and will investigate as the location is at the McKinney/Frisco city border.
Update: The victim has been identified as Landon Borque, a 10th grade student and football player at Frisco Heritage High School.
