Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a horrifying incident where two dead bodies were found in a residence on Wharton’s Dock Road. The discovery was made after concerned neighbors reported a foul smell emanating from the home in the 8700 block of Wharton’s Dock Road on the previous evening.
Bandera County Chief Deputy, Matt King, revealed that upon the arrival of the deputies, they observed a person lying on a bed inside the house with evident head trauma visible through a window. Subsequently, when the officers entered the property, they were confronted with an appalling sight. In the master bedroom, they found the lifeless bodies of a male and a female, both in an advanced state of decomposition. Both victims bore signs of severe blunt force trauma to their heads and faces.
The suspect, a 28-year-old male, who is believed to be a resident of the home, was later discovered in another room within the same house. Despite being taken into custody, the suspect has remained tight-lipped, refusing to speak to deputies and investigators. In the interest of preserving the victims' identities, their names are being withheld until they are officially and positively identified.
The suspect, identified as Michael Andrew Novak, was taken into custody and booked into the Bandera County Jail in the early hours of Saturday morning. He is being held without being magistrated at this time and is facing two counts of murder in connection with the appalling crime scene.
Chief Deputy Matt King expressed his shock at the disturbing scene, stating, "It’s a pretty grizzly scene. The damage was so bad you couldn’t recognize them."
