Gunfire Investigation Underway After Shots Fired at Fate Home

FATE, Texas — Authorities are investigating after multiple gunshots were fired at a home Wednesday night, March 11th, in the city of Fate, according to the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office.

The Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center received an emergency call around 10 p.m. reporting shots fired at a residence in the 200 block of Willowbrook Lane.

Fate police officers arrived within one minute of the call being dispatched and discovered several discharged rounds of .300 Blackout ammunition at the scene.

Additional callers reported seeing three individuals fleeing the area on foot. Officers established a perimeter while additional resources were brought in to assist with the search.

The Rockwall Police Department responded with a K9 unit and a drone. Authorities said high winds prevented the K9 from successfully tracking the suspects and limited the use of the drone.

After an extensive search of the area by responding officers, no suspects were located.

Fate police detectives responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Investigators said they are continuing a preliminary follow up investigation but currently have no leads.

Officials said the incident is believed to be isolated and there is no danger to the public. No injuries were reported.
