GREENVILLE, Texas — A Hunt County narcotics investigation led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man accused of distributing fentanyl from a residence in Greenville.
In February 2026, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Unit launched an investigation into suspected fentanyl distribution at a home in the 4000 block of Western Circle. Investigators identified Jeffrey Lee Lakey Jr., 24, as the primary suspect.
On February 24, 2026, investigators executed an evidentiary search warrant at the residence with assistance from the Hunt County SWAT team. Authorities said Lakey was actively attempting to purchase additional fentanyl on the dark web at the time deputies made entry.
During the search, investigators recovered a large quantity of white and purple powder believed to be fentanyl, M/30 fentanyl pills, several ounces of marijuana, narcotics distribution paraphernalia, and a Glock pistol.
Lakey was arrested and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.
The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Greenville Police Department and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
