Two Denton Men Sentenced to More Than 27 Years Combined in Federal Meth Trafficking Case

Clayton Caddell and Robert Cazarin

PLANO, Texas - Two men from Denton have been sentenced to lengthy federal prison terms for their roles in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy operating in the Eastern District of Texas, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Clayton Willis Caddell, 48, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. On January 9, 2026, U.S. District Judge Sean D. Jordan sentenced Caddell to 181 months, or just over 15 years, in federal prison.

Robert Alfonso Cazarin, 37, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Judge Jordan sentenced him the same day to 156 months, or 13 years, in federal prison.

Court records show that beginning no later than 2022, Caddell and Cazarin conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine and other illegal drugs throughout the Eastern District of Texas.

The case was prosecuted as part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative, a federal effort aimed at dismantling drug trafficking organizations, transnational criminal groups, and other networks involved in serious crimes, including narcotics distribution and human trafficking.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Denton County Sheriff's Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Johnson.
