Lavon Police Searching for Juvenile Suspect in Fatal Shooting at House Gathering

LAVON, TX - Lavon police are investigating a homicide in Lavon that occurred Saturday night during a small gathering at a home in the 700 block of Wellington Drive.

According to investigators, both the suspect and the victim were attending a pop-up gathering at the residence on December 13, 2025, when a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation. The homeowner intervened and broke up the fight.

Police say that a short time later, as the victim was preparing to leave the residence, the suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times at close range.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Romeo English of Rowlett, Texas. He died from his injuries at the scene.

Through witness interviews and the ongoing investigation, police identified the suspect as a 14-year-old juvenile male. Due to the suspect’s age, no additional identifying information is being released. Authorities say the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Investigators have received credible information indicating the juvenile may have left the Lavon area.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated and targeted incident and do not consider it an ongoing threat to the public. However, anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 911 immediately and not attempt to approach him.

The Lavon Police Department is asking for the public’s help.
