Hopkins County Sheriff Lewis Tatum announced the arrest of Luis Estaban Duarte-Rodriguez, 39, following a series of arson incidents in the Saltillo area. Duarte-Rodriguez, a Hispanic male, was taken into custody on December 2, 2025, in Cook County after an extensive investigation.
Sheriff Tatum credited the success to the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies, including State Deputy Fire Marshall Josh Daily, Hopkins County Assistant Fire Marshall Dustin Miller, and Hopkins County criminal investigators.
“The arson cases in Saltillo required tremendous dedication and seamless cooperation across multiple agencies,” Sheriff Tatum said. “This case is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together to protect our community.”
The investigation is now concluded, and Hopkins County authorities reaffirmed their commitment to the safety and security of residents.
