Kaufman County, TX – The Kaufman County District Attorney’s Office announced that the Capital Murder trial of Trevor Rhea McEuen has concluded. After a four-day trial, a jury found McEuen guilty of Capital Murder in connection with the 2023 killing of a rancher, Aaron Martinez.
McEuen was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He had been one of Texas' 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and was captured this past summer in Grand Saline after an hours-long SWAT standoff.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies and the District Attorney’s Office prosecutors, whose work led to the conviction and provided closure for the Martinez family.
“Justice was served in this case thanks to the tireless efforts of our investigators, the District Attorney’s Office, and all the agencies that assisted throughout this investigation,” said Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan Beavers. “Our thoughts remain with the Martinez family, and we hope this verdict brings them some measure of peace.”
