A woman wanted in connection with a child abduction and felony assault case out of Garland, Texas, was taken into custody Sunday morning following a coordinated effort between the Linden Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:02 a.m. on October 26, 2025, Linden police received an alert about a vehicle tied to a missing person investigation traveling southbound on State Highway 59. Working together, officers from both agencies began searching the area.
About 20 minutes later, the vehicle was located, and a felony traffic stop was conducted near U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 155. The driver, identified as Jessica Martinez (also known as Jessica Resendiz), was detained without incident.
A records check confirmed Martinez was wanted out of Garland for felony assault of a pregnant person, and the vehicle she was driving had been linked to a child abduction investigation. Martinez was arrested, and the Garland Police Department was notified.
Garland detectives are now working with local authorities to continue the investigation.
Officials say the case demonstrates how interagency coordination and real-time alert systems help law enforcement locate suspects quickly and safely.
