COLMESNEIL, Texas—A 17-year-old student was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly making a terroristic threat against Colmesneil High School.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 20, Tyler County Deputies responded to the school after receiving a report of a possible threat. Superintendent Sharon Tule informed deputies that a student, identified as Aaron McDonald, 17, of Colmesneil, was currently off campus but had made threats to "shoot up the school."
According to the report, several other students in a classroom heard McDonald make multiple threats, including "killing everyone in this school," after he became upset about a new seating assignment.
Deputies located McDonald at his residence and took him into custody after Justice of the Peace Mike Hughes issued an arrest warrant. He was transported to the Tyler County Jail and charged with Felony Terroristic Threat.
Judge Hughes set McDonald's bond at $50,000 and issued several bond conditions, including prohibiting him from being on any Colmesneil Independent School District (CISD) property.
