A 37-year-old Silsbee man has been indicted on federal charges of carjacking and firearms violations in the Eastern District of Texas, Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs announced.
Justin Keith Colley was named in a three-count indictment returned this week by a federal grand jury charging him with carjacking, brandishing a firearm during a violent crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the indictment, on June 20, 2025, Colley used a firearm to forcefully commit a carjacking. Investigators later determined that Colley had been previously convicted of a felony, making it illegal for him to own or possess firearms.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative targeting illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and combating violent crime through combined efforts of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN).
If convicted, Colley faces up to life in federal prison.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Silsbee Police Department, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. Assistant U.S. Attorney Reynaldo P. Morin is prosecuting the case.
