WHITESBORO, TX – The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) has identified 26-year-old Shane Andrew Gilliam, a resident of Whitesboro, as a suspect in an ongoing investigation into the online possession of child exploitative material.
The investigation, conducted by the GCSO's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, led to the execution of a search warrant at Gilliam's residence. During the investigation, authorities discovered that Gilliam had previously been employed at A Child’s Garden Daycare & Learning Center, LLC, a licensed childcare facility in Whitesboro.
As the daycare is located in Cooke County, the GCSO is coordinating its efforts with the Cooke County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is active and developing.
Out of an "abundance of caution," the GCSO is urging any parent or caregiver whose child has attended the daycare, either currently or in the past, to contact their office with any concerns or information. An investigator will follow up directly and confidentially. The public can submit information via email at gcsoinvestigations@co.grayson.tx.us.
The GCSO has stated that there is no information to suggest any child is in immediate danger. The public is urged to avoid speculation as the judicial process proceeds, as Gilliam is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in a court of law.
