Fire Contained at Kearney Trailers Manufacturing Building in Emory

EMORY, TX – On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 2:02 p.m., the Emory Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at Kearney Trailers on Highway 19 South.

Upon arrival, Engine 1 found heavy smoke coming from the eaves and doors of a manufacturing building located at the rear of the property. A full commercial structure fire response was immediately requested, and mutual aid was called in.

Thanks to the coordinated effort from Rains County departments and neighboring agencies, firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the main structure and its contents, preventing damage to nearby exposures. The fire was fully extinguished by 7:30 p.m.

Multiple agencies assisted in the response. Hopkins County EMS provided hydration and deployed the Ambus for firefighter rehabilitation. South Van Zandt Volunteer Fire Department Chief Gregg Beverly offered to send a crew to assist with additional calls during the evening.

Community members also supported firefighters by offering water, snacks, and supplies during the extended operation.

No injuries were reported.
