ATHENS, TX – On July 31, 2025, at approximately 11:09 p.m., Narcotics Investigators Jonathan Barrios, Jude Bonner, and Investigator Blake Seward conducted a traffic stop in the 5900 block of County Road 3925 in the Athens area. During the stop, three individuals were detained: Karl Tremayne Dora, Brealzane Hernandez-Walker, and Jkeyvia Ntoi Hurd.
A search of the SUV revealed a large gallon-sized Ziploc bag containing a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine concealed in a rear compartment.
Investigators then obtained a search warrant for Dora’s residence, issued by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee. Upon entering the home, they discovered two young children left alone. The search of the residence led to the seizure of large quantities of marijuana, suspected cocaine, ecstasy pills in baggies, and prepackaged THC gummies. A large sum of U.S. currency was also found on Dora’s person.
During interviews, Hernandez-Walker and Hurd gave conflicting statements about the children’s whereabouts and admitted they had left the residence earlier to travel with Dora to Dallas. Child Protective Services responded to assist with the abandoned children.
All three individuals were arrested and booked into the Henderson County Jail on the following charges:
-
Karl Tremayne Dora, 41, of Gunbarrel City: Four counts of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana, Bond set at $315,000.
-
