FlixBus Leaves Disabled Woman Behind in Tyler; Deputies Ensure Safe Return

TYLER, TX – On Saturday, July 26, a 75-year-old disabled woman was left stranded at a gas station in Tyler by a FlixBus while attempting to use the restroom. The bus departed with her walker, purse, phone, and other personal belongings.

A call was placed to Harrison County authorities, and a deputy was able to locate the bus and make contact with its operators. Despite being informed they had left a passenger and taken all of her property, the bus company declined to return for the woman, instead stating they would leave her belongings at a bus station in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In response, multiple law enforcement agencies coordinated efforts to assist the woman. Smith County transported her to Gregg County, and Gregg County deputies transferred her to Harrison County. A Harrison County deputy then transported her to Shreveport, where she was reunited with her belongings.

Deputies contacted her family, who arranged for a family friend to pick her up in Shreveport. The deputy remained with her until she was safely released to the family friend’s care. The woman’s family expressed their gratitude for the deputies' efforts in ensuring her safety and well-being.
