DELTA COUNTY, Texas — A 17-year-old from Pecan Gap was arrested Saturday, July 19, 2025, following a reported family disturbance, according to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a disturbance in progress at a residence in the 1800 block of FM 1532. According to the affidavit, Malachi Gabriel Redwine allegedly became upset during an argument with his cousin and physically assaulted him.
The report states Redwine grabbed his cousin by the neck and forced him to the ground, causing a visible scratch on the cousin’s left cheek. Redwine did not appear to have any visible injuries and declined to provide a statement to law enforcement.
Redwine was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail without incident. His bond was set at $2,000.
