On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 4:27 a.m., the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office regarding a potential aggravated kidnapping that had occurred earlier that morning in the Plum Ridge community in Angelina County.
Jasper County deputies received information that the suspect and the female victim were at the Bass Buster Inn in Brookeland. Investigators were able to identify the specific trailer where the individuals were believed to be located.
Deputies responded to the scene, entered the trailer, and located the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Clayton Sexton of Silsbee. Sexton was taken into custody without incident. The victim was found in the bedroom and was reported to be uninjured.
Angelina County deputies, also on the scene, transported Sexton back to their jurisdiction. He will be charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, with additional charges pending.
The investigation remains ongoing.
