On Thursday, July 3, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m., deputies with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding a family disturbance involving an armed individual at a residence in the 400 block of Bonham Street.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered 32-year-old Nathan Edwards, who was armed. During the encounter, actions by Edwards led one deputy to discharge their firearm, striking Edwards. Deputies secured the scene and rendered aid. Edwards was pronounced deceased at the scene and later transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
The Texas Rangers were immediately notified and have assumed responsibility for the investigation. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is fully cooperating with the independent review. No further details are being released at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.
