In the early morning hours of July 4, 2025, Titus County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators executed a search and arrest warrant at a property in the 900 block of County Road 3925, following credible information about an illegal cockfighting event.
Investigators reviewed evidence and statements indicating violations of Texas Penal Code Section 42.105, leading 276th District Judge Michael Kopech to issue the warrant based on probable cause.
Deputies arrested 52-year-old Titus County resident Timothy Thompson on-site for the offense of Cockfighting, classified as a State Jail Felony. During the execution of the warrant, additional evidence led to four more charges of Cruelty to a Livestock Animal, also State Jail Felonies.
Thompson was booked into the Titus County Jail without incident and is awaiting arraignment. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify additional suspects connected to the operation.
