Trevor Rhea McEuen, 33, one of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, was captured early Monday morning following an hours-long SWAT standoff at a residence along U.S. Highway 80 in Grand Saline.
McEuen had been on the run since May 5, 2025, after he removed a court-ordered ankle monitor and failed to appear for a scheduled court date in Kaufman County. He was awaiting trial for capital murder by terror threat, murder, and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the 2023 killing of 35-year-old Aaron Martinez in Forney. A separate warrant for arson of a habitation was issued by Van Zandt County on May 6, 2025.
Law enforcement agencies involved in the manhunt included the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshals Service, and Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office. After confirming McEuen’s location through coordinated investigative efforts, SWAT teams from the Kaufman and Henderson County Sheriff’s Offices, along with the U.S. Marshals Task Force, executed a search warrant at the residence and took him into custody without incident.
McEuen was immediately transported to the Kaufman County Jail, where he is being held on multiple felony charges. A Texas Crime Stoppers reward will not be paid in this case.
Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan Beavers credited the success of the operation to weeks of surveillance, intelligence sharing, and collaboration among more than a dozen local, state, and federal agencies.
Authorities continue to investigate whether anyone may have knowingly assisted McEuen while he was evading arrest.
