Man Airlifted After Being Pinned Beneath Tractor in Wolfe City

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2025, emergency crews responded to a serious entrapment incident involving a tractor in Wolfe City.

Wolfe City Fire Department (WCFD) Engine 1 and Squad 4, along with Hunt County EMS, arrived on scene to find a patient pinned underneath a tractor and suffering from critical injuries. Commerce Fire Department also responded, with Commerce Engine 4 assuming command of the landing zone for Air Evac 67.

Due to the severity of the victim’s condition, responders activated the crush syndrome medical protocol—a specialized treatment used when prolonged pressure causes life-threatening complications due to muscle damage. While EMS administered protocol-specific treatments, WCFD crews set up rescue equipment and began efforts to lift the tractor from the patient.

Once the patient was stabilized, extrication was completed, and Air Evac 67 transported the victim to a trauma center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The rescue involved coordinated efforts between WCFD, Hunt County EMS, and Commerce Fire Department. The patient's current condition has not been released. The incident remains under investigation.
