Detectives with the Beaumont Police Department’s Narcotics Interdiction Unit stopped a Blue Jeep Cherokee on IH-10 at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 9, leading to the arrest of the driver, 31-year-old Estephania Abrego-Hernandez of Greenville, Texas.
Following a conversation with Abrego-Hernandez, detectives developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in the discovery of approximately 4 kilograms of suspected cocaine and a large amount of cash.
Abrego-Hernandez was subsequently transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
