Wanted Driver Flees Traffic Stop, Crashes into Pole in Commerce

A driver with an outstanding arrest warrant fled a traffic stop in Commerce on Saturday night, leading to a pursuit and a subsequent crash into a telephone pole.

On May 3rd, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Commerce Police Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by an individual known to have an active arrest warrant. During the stop, officers identified the driver and several occupants. Further investigation revealed additional offenses being committed by those in the vehicle.

The driver then chose to flee the scene in the vehicle. Officers pursued, observing the passengers exit the vehicle and flee on foot. The pursuit of the vehicle continued until the driver lost control and struck a telephone pole in the 300 block of Park Street.

The driver sustained injuries in the crash and was transported for medical treatment. No other individuals involved in the incident were reported injured.

The Commerce Police Department stated that the investigation is ongoing and that additional arrest warrants are likely to be sought in connection with this incident.
