On the evening of July 6, 2023, a devastating collision occurred in the 3600 block of Judson Road, resulting in the loss of two lives. At approximately 8:05 p.m., Longview Police Officers rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a crash involving a Ford pickup truck and a Mazda passenger car.
According to witnesses at the scene, the Ford truck was traveling northbound on Judson Road, occupying the center lane and approaching the intersection of North Spur 63. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the Ford had the right-of-way with a green light signal. Meanwhile, the Mazda was heading south and attempted a left turn onto Hill Street, directly entering the path of the oncoming Ford pickup.
The impact of the collision between the two vehicles was forceful, causing the Mazda to veer off the road and collide with another nearby vehicle. The crash left the occupants of the Mazda in critical condition, and emergency services wasted no time in rushing them to a local hospital for immediate medical attention.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, both the driver and passenger of the Mazda succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of their next of kin.
