The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office assisted in a multi-agency pursuit of a stolen car originating from Louisiana, culminating in the arrest of three suspects.
The pursuit began when Dallas Police Department identified the stolen vehicle and pursued it into Van Zandt County. Agencies involved in the chase included Dallas PD, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers, Forney Police Department, Canton Police Department, and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office.
The pursuit ended near the Highway 19 exit on Interstate 20 after officers deployed spike strips, disabling the vehicle. The three occupants then fled on foot but were apprehended through the combined efforts of the agencies involved.
Van Zandt County Sheriff Bridger stated, “Working together with our partner agencies is one of our keys to success. The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office is proud to assist these agencies, and through our combined efforts, all three suspects were captured.”
In addition to the arrests, authorities recovered two guns and the stolen vehicle. Sheriff Bridger confirmed that no injuries were reported, and all members of the community remained safe.
