Greenville Prepares for Freezing Temperatures with Safety Measures and Warming Stations

The City of Greenville is taking proactive steps in preparation for the predicted inclement weather expected to hit North Texas, with temperatures set to drop below freezing.

The City’s Public Works Department has activated its weather response plan, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready for deployment. The sand spreader is operational, along with a backhoe, bucket truck, and other key resources. City personnel will be available after hours and during the weekend to address any hazardous road conditions or emergencies that may arise.

For weather-related utility issues, including frozen or leaking water pipes and blocked sewer lines, the City encourages residents to call the Public Works Department during regular hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at (903) 457-3152. After-hours or weekend concerns can be directed to (903) 457-2900.

Residents are urged to take precautions, including wrapping exposed pipes, protecting outdoor plants, ensuring their vehicles have adequate anti-freeze, and preparing emergency supplies such as extra batteries, water, and ready-to-eat foods.

    Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
