On Sunday, December 29, 2024, just after midnight, deputies from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported assault on County Road 2413. Upon arrival, Sgt. Davis and Cpl. Patterson made contact with the caller, who claimed to have been struck in the head by Amanda Jo Williams, 44, of Pickton, Texas.
Deputies observed visible marks on the caller, and the details provided by the victim matched the initial report. Williams, however, denied the allegations. Despite the caller’s decision not to pursue prosecution, deputies determined a physical assault had occurred based on the evidence and statements gathered.
To prevent further escalation, Williams was taken into custody. While being transported to the Hopkins County Jail, Williams complained of heart issues and was immediately taken to the emergency room. After being cleared for detention, she was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center on a charge of Assault Class C.
