On June 17, 2023, at approximately 7:00 PM, Hopkins County Deputy T. Patterson responded to a report of an assault in the 6500 block of State Highway 11 W. The incident involved David Glynne Noble, who allegedly entered a residence and physically assaulted his stepfather.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Patterson interviewed a witness, identified as the suspect's mother, who confirmed the assault. Another witness, the suspect's sister, had already contacted emergency services (911) prior to the deputy's arrival. The stepfather, however, was uncooperative and refused to provide his identification.
While Deputy Patterson was speaking to the witnesses, he noticed the suspect's vehicle passing by the location westbound on Hwy 11 West. The vehicle had its hazard lights on and honked as it went by. Deputy Patterson provided the family with a yellow family violence card and proceeded to search for the suspect.
Following a search, deputies located Noble's vehicle in the 1000 block of C.R. 4711. Law enforcement officers made contact with Noble, a resident of Pickton, and informed him that he was under arrest. They directed him to comply with law enforcement directives, specifically to put his hands behind his back. However, Noble refused to cooperate, prompting officers to physically restrain him and place him under arrest.
Noble was then transported to the Hopkins County Detention Center for booking. During the transportation, Noble made a concerning comment about returning to the residence and causing harm to the entire family. To ensure his safety and the safety of the detention center staff, Noble was placed in a secure cell.
In response to the incident, an emergency protective order will be applied for and presented to the magistrate during Noble's arraignment. Additionally, a 24-hour victim notification has been requested to keep the affected family informed of any updates related to the case.
David Glynne Noble has been booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center on charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member. The investigation into the assault is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the case.
