Commemorative Air Force Barnstormer Saturday Event on May 18

Commemorative Air Force (CAF) invites the community to a special event, Barnstormer Saturday, at Greenville Majors Airport. This free event, scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, aims to commemorate aviation history and honor veterans.

As the largest flying museum globally, CAF provides an opportunity to relive history by showcasing historic aircraft. Visitors can witness iconic planes such as the Vultee BT-15 "Little Noodle" and the North American AT-6 "Nella," which played a significant role at the all-female Avenger Field in Sweetwater, TX.

In addition to these historic aircraft, special guest planes will be featured, including the Beech C-45 "Bucket of Bolts," a versatile World War II-era aircraft, and the Cessna O-2 "Snoopy," a unique twin-engine observation plane.

One of the highlights of the event is the Douglas A-26 "Lady Liberty," the oldest flying A-26 and a true World War II veteran. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour its cockpit and learn about its remarkable history.

By purchasing a ride in these aircraft, attendees can contribute to the preservation of aviation history and support the CAF's mission to keep these priceless planes flying.

The event offers free admission and parking, making it accessible to all aviation enthusiasts and community members. Barnstormer Saturday promises a day filled with history, excitement, and a chance to honor those who served.
