On April 11, 2024, Narcotics Investigators Jonathan Daille, Brad Beddingfield, and Jonathan Barrios conducted a narcotics search warrant in the Hidden Hills Harbor subdivision, located in Mabank. The warrant, issued by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee, led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamines in the possession of Roger Cullum Sr. Cullum was subsequently arrested and taken to the Henderson County Detention Center on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1, weighing over 1 gram but less than 4 grams, a third-degree felony.
Later the same day, the investigators executed another search warrant on Roosevelt Street in Athens, TX, also issued by Judge Scott McKee. This operation resulted in the arrest of Johnny Sieger for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1, weighing over 1 gram but less than 4 grams, a second-degree felony, along with several others on various charges and outstanding warrants.
Among those arrested were John Minter for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 and Tamper or Fabricate Physical Evidence, Byron Lewis, Jesse Smalley, Richard Rhea, Steve Caldera, Brittany Bayes, and Mary Whitley for outstanding warrants.
The manufacture and delivery charge carries a potential penalty of up to 20 years in the Texas Department of Corrections and a fine of $10,000. Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1, less than 1 gram, is classified as a State Jail Felony, with a possible sentence of up to 2 years in a State Jail facility and a fine of $10,000.
In a separate incident early on Friday, April 12, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity off Old Fort Road south of Chandler. Dispatch relayed information about a male subject in a black suburban with handcuffs claiming to be an investigator on private property. When asked for identification, the individual refused. Chandler Police Department later apprehended the suspect, identified as Robert Julius, who had an outstanding felony arrest warrant. Julius was arrested for the warrant and for impersonating a peace officer before being transported to the Henderson County Jail.
