The Colony Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight between a motorcycle and a police car.
At approximately 2:30 am, April 19, a motorcyclist crashed into the back of a stationary patrol unit. The patrol vehicle was parked on the service road assisting a stranded motorist. Neither the officer or the stranded motorist were hurt in the collision.
The Colony FD responded to provide medical care to the injured motorcyclist, but they were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Colony PD and Lewisville PD’s Accident Investigation team investigated for several hours.
Northbound lanes of 121 have since been reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
