The Stolen Valor Act prohibits the deceptive use of military honors, false claims of rank, or the wearing of unauthorized medals with the intent to gain financial benefits, employment, property, or other tangible advantages. Hamm's sentencing includes a mandate for him to pay restitution totaling at least $2.3 million. Additionally, he is required to forfeit the proceeds of his illicit activities, encompassing jewelry, automobiles, and cash amounting to $1,675,000.
