On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at around 11:19 p.m., a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2800 block of South SH 16 for an expired registration.
While making contact with the two male occupants, the deputy detected an odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and resulted in the findings of approximately 34.89 ounces of marijuana, two vape pens containing THC, and a handgun. All items were linked to the male passenger.
The passenger, 21 years old and of Fredericksburg, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana <= 5lbs. > 4 oz., Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 >= 1 gram < 4 grams (THC), and Unlawful Carrying a Weapon.
