Unfounded Sighting of Individual with Fake Gun Sparks School Rumors in Royse City

In an incident earlier today, concerns arose when a bus driver reported an individual in the vicinity of FM2642 and FM2650 carrying what appeared to be a fake black rifle with an orange tip. Law enforcement promptly responded to the situation but were unable to locate the individual in question.

The incident occurred at 6:50 AM when the bus driver noticed the subject and reported it to the Royce City ISD Transportation Office. The Transportation Office then contacted the Royse City Police Department.

No reports or evidence suggested that the individual had boarded a school bus or entered any educational facility within the Royse City Independent School District. Despite this, rumors regarding the unusual sighting started to circulate, especially within the Royse City High School.

In response to the situation, the Royse City Independent School District issued a statement to provide clarity and assure the community that there was no imminent threat. The statement emphasized that all campuses, including Royse City High School, were operating under normal conditions.

The school district expressed gratitude to parents, students, and staff members for promptly reporting the rumors, emphasizing that such reports are taken seriously. Additionally, the district encouraged everyone to visit the RCISD Safe webpage for more information on the procedures in place to ensure safety within the school community.

Authorities are actively monitoring the situation, and there is currently no indication of any ongoing threat to the school or the community.
