In the early hours of September 14, 2023, at approximately 6:07 am, Paris Police officers responded to a call regarding an ongoing burglary in the 1500 block of E. Price. The distressed caller reported an unfamiliar male intruder had forcefully entered their apartment, posing a threat. Police identified the individual as Joseph Lee Christain, matching the provided description and known to the officers. However, Christain declined to provide any details about the situation.

According to the victim, Christain had arrived at the residence in search of a female who was not present. When the victim denied his request, Christain resorted to threats, leading the victim to secure their door. Undeterred, Christain attempted to forcibly enter by kicking the door. Eventually, he removed a window unit air conditioner to gain access to the premises. Christain continued to make menacing threats, prompting the victim to contact the police.

Subsequently, officers arrested Christain, charging him with Burglary of a Habitation, a felony offense. Following his apprehension, Christain underwent a thorough search for contraband while being held at the police station.
