GREENVILLE, Texas - Greenville ISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez welcomed students and families back to school with a message emphasizing student potential, community support and opportunities for growth as the district begins a new academic year.

In a letter to Greenville ISD families, Lopez said he was entering the school year with excitement and optimism about what lies ahead for students, employees and families.

“There are many outstanding school districts across Texas, but there is only one Greenville ISD,” Lopez wrote. “We are built differently.”

Lopez said the district's focus is on recognizing the abilities already present among its students and providing opportunities for them to discover and develop their individual talents.

“We believe in the incredible potential within every student, and we know that the talent is already here: in our classrooms, on our campuses, among our staff, and throughout our community,” he wrote.

The superintendent said the district's work goes beyond classroom instruction and includes helping students discover who they are, develop their gifts and prepare for their futures.

“Our work is about creating opportunities for students to discover who they are, develop their gifts, and celebrate the unique talents they bring to the world,” Lopez said. “It is about inspiring futures, strengthening families, and transforming lives.”

Superintendent Thanks Families for Their Trust

Lopez also emphasized cooperation between schools, families and the broader Greenville community as students return to classrooms.

“When others may see obstacles, we see opportunities,” he wrote. “When we see potential, we nurture it. And when we see talent, we celebrate it.”

He thanked parents and guardians for entrusting their children to Greenville ISD and said district employees are looking forward to a year focused on learning, growth and achievement.

“Thank you for trusting Greenville ISD with what matters most: your children,” Lopez wrote. “We are honored to serve your families and look forward to making this a year filled with learning, growth, achievement, and unforgettable moments.”

Lopez closed his back-to-school message by encouraging the Greenville ISD community to build on the potential already present across the district.

“The talent is already here. The potential is already in our classrooms,” Lopez said. “Together, let’s make this an extraordinary year!”
