CENTER, Texas - A lengthy investigation by the Center Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a man accused of committing multiple burglaries and a woman accused of helping him avoid arrest.
According to the Center Police Department, on Tuesday, August 4th, investigators arrested 39-year-old Marsh Glenn Odom Jr in connection with multiple burglary offenses following an extensive investigation.
Police credited the department's Patrol Division with developing the critical information that ultimately led to Odom's arrest.
Officials said attentive patrol operations, effective observation and proactive policing efforts provided investigators with key leads that helped identify and locate the suspect.
During the investigation, officers also arrested Brittany Lewing.
Lewing is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution and resisting arrest after investigators alleged she assisted Odom in avoiding capture by law enforcement.
Police Chief and department leadership praised both patrol officers and investigators for their teamwork and persistence throughout the investigation.
"Their coordinated efforts demonstrate the importance of proactive policing and professional patrol practices in solving crimes and apprehending offenders," the department said in a statement.
Odom has been charged with Burglary of Vehicles and Burglary of Building. He also had two warrants for Failure to Appear on two charges related to burglaries. He remains in-custody at the Shelby County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional criminal charges may be filed.
