Fire Damages Emory Home, Mutual Aid Crews Help Bring Blaze Under Control

EMORY, Texas — Firefighters from multiple agencies battled a residential fire early Thursday morning that heavily damaged a home in Emory.

According to the Emory Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 4:55 a.m. on July 2 to a reported structure fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story residence with heavy flames coming through the roof on the Charlie side of the structure.

Due to the intensity of the fire, the Emory Fire Department requested mutual aid from the Point Fire Department and the East Tawakoni Fire Department.

Firefighters launched an aggressive attack from both the Alpha and Charlie sides of the home. However, the fire had already spread through the attic and into the remainder of the residence.

Crews brought the fire under control at approximately 5:58 a.m. and remained at the scene extinguishing hot spots and conducting overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

All fire units cleared the scene by 8:11 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The Emory Fire Department thanked the Point Fire Department, East Tawakoni Fire Department, and Hopkins County EMS for their assistance and support during the incident.

Fire officials also reminded residents to ensure their homes are equipped with working smoke alarms and that every family has a practiced fire escape plan.
