FORNEY, Texas — A man wanted in Mississippi on a capital murder warrant was arrested Wednesday night during a coordinated operation involving local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
According to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, deputies, working alongside the U.S. Marshals Service and the Texas Department of Public Safety, executed an arrest warrant at approximately 9:45 p.m. on July 1 in the 1400 block of Kirkhill Lane in Forney.
Authorities identified the suspect as 32-year-old Devon Edward Modacure Jr, who was wanted by Mississippi authorities on a capital murder warrant.
Modacure was taken into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the Kaufman County Justice Center, where he is being held pending extradition proceedings to Mississippi.
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office did not release additional details about the underlying homicide investigation.
