KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office has recovered more than $409,000 in stolen property during an auto theft investigation that led to the arrest of one man.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies and investigators executed a search warrant on June 10 at a residence in the 10000 block of County Road 4079 as part of an ongoing investigation into stolen vehicles.
During the search, authorities recovered approximately $409,000 worth of stolen property originating from multiple counties and law enforcement jurisdictions.
The recovered property included several stolen pickup trucks, trailers, U-Haul trucks, cargo trailers, and flatbed trailers.
One adult male was arrested in connection with the investigation and charged with Theft of Property Greater Than $300,000, a first-degree felony under Texas law.
The suspect was transported to the Kaufman County Justice Center, where he remains in custody pending judicial proceedings.
Investigators are continuing to work with partner law enforcement agencies to identify additional stolen property and determine whether further criminal charges are appropriate.
Authorities are also working to return the recovered vehicles and trailers to their rightful owners.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
