Capital Murder Suspect Arrested in Arizona Following Kaufman County Investigation

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A capital murder suspect wanted in Kaufman County has been arrested in Arizona following a months-long, multi-agency investigation.

The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office announced that Diego Rodriguez was taken into custody at approximately 3 p.m. in Douglas, Arizona.

Authorities said the arrest was the result of months of investigative work involving countless hours by deputies, investigators, and numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Investigators credited the successful arrest to extensive collaboration and the sharing of information and resources among multiple agencies.

The sheriff's office thanked its law enforcement partners for their assistance in locating and apprehending Rodriguez.

"Today's arrest is the result of countless hours of investigative work and the unwavering commitment of our deputies, investigators, and law enforcement partners," Sheriff Bryan Beavers said. "I want to thank every agency involved for their dedication and cooperation in bringing this suspect into custody. Our thoughts remain with the victim's family as we continue seeking justice in this case."

Rodriguez is wanted on a capital murder charge in Kaufman County. Authorities have not yet released additional details about the case or the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the sheriff's office said more information will be released as it becomes available.
