Commerce Police Investigating Shooting That Left Man Wounded

Officers responded at approximately 7:13 p.m. on June 21, 2026, to the 1300 block of Hunt Street to assist the Commerce Fire Department after receiving a report of a possible gunshot victim.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel immediately began treatment before transporting the victim to a hospital.

As officers investigated the incident, they discovered evidence indicating the shooting likely occurred near a residence in the 1700 block of Washington Street rather than at the location where the victim was found.

The area was secured, and detectives with the Commerce Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division responded to process the scene and continue the investigation.

With assistance from the Paris Police Department, officers also located and interviewed individuals believed to have information relevant to the investigation.

Police said detectives are actively pursuing all available leads.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released information regarding a suspect or a possible motive.

The Commerce Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information related to the shooting to contact investigators.
