BEAUMONT, Texas — A Jasper man has been sentenced to federal prison after authorities found firearms during a traffic stop in Hardin County, according to the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas.
Federal prosecutors said 36-year-old Cammorn Joseph Brizendine of Jasper pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On May 20, 2026, Michael Truncale sentenced Brizendine to 37 months in federal prison.
According to court records, the case stemmed from a January 2025 traffic stop in Hardin County for a traffic violation.
Investigators said Brizendine consented to a search of the vehicle, during which deputies located a portable lock box on the floorboard containing two firearms.
Authorities later determined Brizendine was a convicted felon and prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Reynaldo P. Morin prosecuted the case.
