Two Found Dead In Fannin County Murder-Suicide Investigation

FANNIN COUNTY, Texas - Authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after two people were found dead at a residence in Fannin County.

On March 18, 2026, around 10:22 a.m., the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting two deceased individuals at a home off County Road 4605, outside of Trenton.

Deputies and investigators responded and found two adults dead at the scene. One was located inside the residence, and the other was found outside in a vehicle.

The Texas Rangers were called in to assist with the investigation.

According to preliminary findings, investigators believe the incident was a murder-suicide. Evidence, including video surveillance, indicates the male subject shot and killed his wife inside the home before going outside and taking his own life inside a vehicle.

Authorities said there are no additional suspects and no threat to the public. Investigators also stated there is no evidence suggesting anyone else was involved.

The investigation remains ongoing in coordination with the Texas Rangers.

The identities of the individuals have not yet been released out of respect for the family.
